Construction of CU Medical's Second Factory… Speeding up the development and production of new AED products

CU Medical, a specialist in automated external defibrillators (AEDs), announced on the 11th that it has completed construction of a second factory in Wonju, Gangwon Province.

With the completion of the second factory, its annual production capacity will increase from the previous 35,000-40,000 units to 50,000 units. The company explained that the production capacity of its main products will increase by 200% compared to the previous level.

CU Medical is currently focusing on developing new defibrillators and professional defibrillators that have the performance and competitiveness required in advanced markets. The two products will be developed by the end of this year and launched in Korea and major advanced countries next year with medical device certification.


A CU Medical official said, “Last year, we replaced major aging production facilities and invested heavily in expanding productivity and improving quality, and this year, we doubled the production volume of our main products,” adding, “We will stabilize the European market, which has been our main market, and expand the Japanese market, and become a global emergency medical equipment company after 2024.”
